DG CONNECT launched as new Directorate General

On 01 July 2012 as part of a restructuring in the European Commission, the Digital Agenda of the European Commission will be managed by DG for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT). DG CONNECT will now manage running projects launched under DG Information Society and Media.

The new organisational structure includes:

- Directorate A: Components and Systems incorporating Photonics (A1), Robotics (A2), Complex Systems and Advanced Computing (A3), Components (A4).

- Directorate B: Electronic Communications Networks & Services incorporating Regulatory Coordination & Business (B1), Regulatory Coordination & Users (B2), Regulatory Coordination & Markets (B3), Spectrum (B4), Broadband (B5).

- Directorate C: Excellence in Science incorporating e-Infrastructure (C1), Future & Emerging Technologies (FET) (c2), Digital Sciences (C3), Flagships (C4).

- Directorate D: Cooperation incorporating International (D1), Inter-institutional (D2), Communication (D3), Stakeholders (D4).

- Directorate E: NET Futures incorporating Network technologies (E1), Software & Services, Cloud (E2), Net Innovation (E3), Experimental Platforms (E4).

- Directorate F: Co-ordination incorporating Growth & Jobs (F1), Innovation (F2), Programme Coordination (F3), Knowledge Base (F4).

- Directorate G: Media & Data incorporating Converging media & Content (G1), Creativity (G2), Data Value Chain (G3), Inclusion, Skills & Youth (G4)

- Directorate H: Sustainable & Secure Society incorporating Health and Well-Being (H1), Digital Social Platforms (H2), Public services (H3), Trust and Security (H4), Smart Cities & Sustainability (H5).
