National Participation in FP7 - Ghana

The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation was a beneficiary under the IST-Africa Initiative from 2011 - 2013. As part of its ongoing IST-Africa activities MESTI circulated updates on open Calls for Proposals as they are available, encourages the research community to explore these opportunities for international research projects and promotes the research centres during international meetings.

Up to November 2013 Ghana has successfully secured participation in 43 projects in FP7. This is broken down thematically into: ICT (3 projects), Environment (6 projects), Health (17 projects), IDEAS (1 project), INCO (2 projects), Food Agriculture and Biotechnology (KBBE) (6 projects), NMP (1 project), People (1 project), Space (2 projects) and SSH (4 projects). Up to September 2013, Ghanan organisations had secured €8.2 million in funding under FP7.

As at 31 December 2013, the following projects are now complete:

This provides a signfiicant network for future collaboration under Horizon 2020.
