INTRA - ACP Academic Mobility Scheme - Call Closes 10 May 2012

The second Call for Proposals under the Intra-ACP Academic Mobility Scheme opened on 10 February and closes on 10 May. This programme is focused on strengthening cooperation between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific (ACP) to increase access to education, support postgraduate studies and mobility of staff.

This Programme supports the existing African Union Commission Mwalimu Nyerere Programme under Lot 1 (€10 million, with 5 projects of €2 million euro each expected to be funded). Lot 1 is only open to higher education institutions (HEIs) in Africa that provide courses at graduate and/or doctoral level of higher education, recognised by the national authorities in their own country.

Each proposal should be submitted by a partnership of a minimum of three HEIs and maximum of 12 partners, incorporating a coordinating HEI and full partners (public or private HEI). If it is sufficiently justified it is possible to add one HEI from a EU Member State as a technical partner, having been awarded an Erasmus University Charter. The project must be composed of three main parts: a) Identification of existing high quality master and doctoral programmes, b) organisation of mobility and c) individual mobility for students and staff.
