IST-Africa 2007 Conference & Exhibition

09 - 11 May 2007, Maputo, Mozambique

Workshop Submission

Workshop proposals for discussion and tutorial sessions are invited for the IST-Africa 2007 Conference. The conference language is English and workshops should focus on one of the conference Thematic Priorities

Workshop organisers should register proposals online by 22 December 2006.

Your workshop proposal should provide a clear overview of your proposed session under the headings outlined in the submission form:

- Summary of problem domain being addressed

- Workshop objectives

- Summary of discussion/tutorial focus, proposed outcome and target audience

- Outline Programme (presenters, synopsis of presentation)

Each workshop proposal should be supported by a minimum of two papers per workshop session, which will be double blind reviewed by the IPC. (Paper presentations can be supplemented by additional oral presenters.) Proposed workshop presenters should register individually online, submit their papers via the Paper Submission interface and insert: PAPER FOR WORKSHOP SESSION "Enter Workshop Title" in the first paragraph of their paper.

Workshop organisers can contact Paul Cunningham Conference Chair, if they wish to discuss any aspect of their proposal in advance of the closing date.

Following provisional acceptance of workshop proposals, each workshop organiser is responsible for ensuring that all nominated presenters submit final papers of acceptable quality to the appropriate deadlines for review and comments by the IPC. Accepted final papers will be published as part of the conference proceedings.

All workshop organisers and presenters agree to register and pay the participant's fee by 28 February 2007.

Steps to Submit a Workshop/Tutorial Session

1. Please ensure that you have collected the information outlined above to complete the workshop application form.

2. Workshop organisers should ensure that at least two presenters per workshop session submit their papers via Online Paper Submission.

3. If you have not previously registered on the IST-Africa portal, please click on New User and complete your contact details. The server will issue you with a username and password by e-mail to allow you to access your personal page.

4. Upon completion of your details, you will automatically be redirected to the workshop application form where you will enter your workshop title, abstract, description, objectives, target audience, duration requested and outline programme and the relevant classification (paper type and thematic classification). Workshop organisers should provide as much detail as possible when completing the application form as competition for workshop sessions is expected to be high.

5. If you have already registered, please login using your existing log in details (which can be retrieved via Password Reminder) and click Continue to submit the workshop proposal.

6. Upon submission of your workshop proposal, the server will issue an automated acknowledgement of receipt by e-mail.

7. You can review the workshop proposal submitted via your personal page and update and resubmit it up to the deadline of 22 December 2006. Each submission receives a unique reference number. Updated versions for a submission must be submitted by clicking on the Resubmit link beside the Workshop Proposal link in the Paper Details section on your personal page. Previous versions of your workshop proposal are automatically overwritten when a new version is saved. Only the last version submitted before the deadline is reviewed. Please note that once a workshop proposal has been allocated to the Programme Committee for review, it is no longer possible to resubmit it.

8. Please note the Organising Committee will only communicate with the author who submitted the workshop proposal.
