Regional Workshops

Training modules developed as part of the IST-Africa Initiative will be delivered as a series of 2 and 3-day workshops (20 - 40 participants). These workshops will be held in Mozambique (10), South Africa (10), Tanzania (10) & Botswana (4 focused on eGovernment) during 2005 - 2007. To ensure regional impact and to access the target audience(s), training workshops will also take place outside national capital cities.

Each workshop will be customized to the exact requirements of the target audience in different regions in target countries by selecting from a matrix of available European and African case studies. The training modules will cover the following topics and address identified audiences:

- eGovernment (targeting government officials) including individual modules on: Policy and Legal Frameworks; eCommerce Policy and Practice; Information Management in Public Sector Organisations; Change Management; National and Sectoral Strategies for ICT

- eHealth (ICT for health, targeting district health personnel)

- eLearning (ICT for education, targeting secondary school teachers)

- ICT in Agriculture (targeting farmers cooperatives, district agriculture personnel, villagers)

- ICT Sensitization & awareness creation (for government officials, NGOs, youth groups)

- eBusiness (ICT for business, targeting SME business owners)
