SANORD Symposium 2014, 11 - 12 June, Sweden

The SANORD (Southern African-Nordic Centre) International Symposium for 2014 is focused on sustainable future through information technology and welfare development.

The potential for Information Technology (IT) to transform as well as sustain any social sector has been remarked upon widely. The 2014 Symposium hopes to spark debates that will generate concrete solutions towards a progressive multilateral cooperation. The "sustained engagement" of the institutions and individuals in Nordic and Southern Africa Universities could benefit from a stronger emphasis on IT. Using this medium requires careful application that takes into consideration the infrastructural differences between the regions that can likely complicate or challenge the process.

Keynote speakers include:

Prof. Cheryl Potgieter, University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa

Hilde Ibsen, Associate Professor, Karlstad University, Sweden

Caroline Wamala, Senior Lecturer, Karlstad University, Sweden
