IST-Africa Workshop Linking European and African Researchers, Lisbon, 17 October 2012

IST-Africa organised a workshop during eChallenges e2012 in Lisbon on 17 October to raise awareness of ICT related research capacity in IST-Africa partner countries and to link European and African researchers.

Ms Christine Tome, European Co-Chair, 8th Africa - EU Strategic Partnership and IICT Vice-President, Portugal, provided an introduction to the 8th Africa-EU Strategic Partnership in the Opening Plenary.

As well as providing a context for the current state of development in each IST-Africa Partner Country presented, the national representatives participated in relevant thematic sessions during eChallenges and were available to answer questions conference delegates had and to meet with interested parties to discuss specific cooperation opportunities.
