There are a number of stand-alone events being organised around the IST-Africa 2008 Conference. These are separate events but IST-Africa delegates have the option to participate in them if they so wish. It is necessary to register separately for these events.
British Publishers Ltd, one of the IST-Africa 2008 Media Partners, is organising four stand-alone eStrategies Roundtable events, as part of their eStrategies Africa initiative to drive action concerning ICT implementations throughout Africa. These events will take place in Kalahari Sands Hotel, Windhoek on 05 & 06 May 2008.
Presenters in these eStategies Roundtables are invited by British Publishers.
The main focus of the discussion is to examine the current developments of ePassports across the African continent and to discuss what lessons learnt from elsewhere in the world can be applied to the region. When we look at the Africa situation, we should examine what conditions exist that either hinder or promote faster application of available technologies. This session will be chaired by William Davis Managing Editor, British Publishers Limited. Organiser: Chris Hull at British Publishers, Tel: +441179200034, chris@bpl.uk.com
The eStrategies mGovernment Forum will bring together the key executives from across Africa from the government institutions, regulators, service providers, telcos, infrastructure providers, application vendors, inter-governmental organisations/NGOs and consultants to set out a roadmap for the broad rollout of mGovernment on a local, national and regional level.
